TRIANGLE.‎

A triangle is a polygon made up of 3 line segments.

The meeting point of two sides is called the vertex.
We can name a polygon by its vertices. Thus, the triangle shown has three vertices namely A, B and C respectively. So, we name it triangle ABC.

CLASSIFICATION OF TRIANGLES
Triangles can be classified in two ways :
1. On the basis of sides
2. On the basis of angles

1. Classification of triangles on the basis of sides :
a. Equilateral triangle : A triangle which has all sides equal is called an equilateral triangle.

b. Isosceles triangle : A triangle which has two sides equal is called an isosceles triangle.

c. Scalene triangle : A triangle which has no pair of equal sides is called a scalene triangle.

2. Classification of Triangles on the basis of angles.
a. Acute angled triangle : A triangle which has all its angles acute is called an acute angled triangle.

b. Right-angled triangle : A triangle which has one right angle is called a right triangle or right-angled triangle.

c. Obtuse angled triangle : A triangle which has one obtuse angle is called an obtuse angled triangle. In

is obtuse, so it is an obtuse angled triangle.
